SBIPA also focuses on keeping members well-informed through newsletters, circulars and digital platforms, thereby ensuring transparency and active participation in all decisions.

The SBIPA also works closely with various government departments, legal authorities, and banking associations to influence positive policy changes.

The Federation believes in adapting to changing times, embracing digital platforms, and using modern communication tools to connect with members across the Globe. By doing so, it ensures that even the most senior members remain engaged and well-connected.

Ultimately, SBIPA is not just an association—it is a family that continues the proud legacy of service to the State Bank of India while upholding the dignity, welfare, and unity of its pensioners.

Historical Perspective:

The pensioners' movement in State Bank of India took shape due to the initiative taken by a few IBI pensioners. The first voice was raised by the late Shri M Budhraja of Mumbai in 1967. He sought the revision of the meager pension paid to him by our Bank. Though all the pensioners were affected for many years by the very low pension paid by our Bank, only a few pensioners like the late Shri M Budhraja sought justice from our Bank.

He also made an effort to form an Association of SBI pensioners in Bombay in the year 1972. As there was not much support, he could not pursue his efforts. He finally settled down in Delhi and passed away.In the year 1973, under the leadership of Shri C B Bankley and Shri V D Mehta, an Association of SBI pensioners was formed in Ahmedabad. This was however in the nascent stage at that time. However, State Bank of India Pensioners’ Association – Ahmedabad was formally registered as a Society with its Articles and Memorandum of Association with the Dy. Charity Commisioner, Ahmedabad on 31st August 1985.The first set of Office Bearers of the Association
